A few weeks ago, I decided to dive back into the debut record from Belly called "Star." It came out in the 1900's, kids - January 25th, 1993, to be exact! I have to say, it is timeless. It has that sound that a lot of young bands are going for - a blend of ethereal dreamy alt-rock, crunchy guitars...all lead by the angelic vocals of Tanya Donelly.
You haven't lived until you moshed at a Belly concert at the Limelight in NYC. Amiright?!?
I thought I might play a song or two from this record on the air, but then I kept letting the tracks roll and it made me realize we need to dive into this whole album and relive it together. And what a great way to continue our WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH celebration.
So, join me weekdays this week just after 12-Noon for an 88-5 RETRO ALBUM DIVE with Belly. Moshing along is optional, but preferred.
