This 88FIVE Live In-Studio with Phillip-Michael Scales is brought to you by The Independent 88.5 FM, CSUN & Saddleback College.
Join Midday host Mookie as he chats with the up-and-coming soul & blues singer, songwriter, and musician Phillip-Michael Scales!
Scales explains the term Dive Bar Soul, a term he uses to describe his style of music. He talks about his time in Nashville, the opportunities he found for himself, and how he got into rotation on his local radio station. Scales also speaks about his experience from the moment he found out that Ellen Degeneres heard his song "Find A Way" on The Independent 88.5 FM to when he performed on her talk show. We also learned what major Scales had originally declared at Berkeley University.
This 88FIVE Live In-Studio session includes acoustic performances of "Find A Way," "Your Love Is Working Me To The Bone," and "Oh, Hallelujah."
All songs in the studio are recorded and mixed at 88.5 FM Southern California by Tristan Dolce & Matt Blake
