In 1958, The Quarrymen, featuring John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, John “Duff” Lowe on piano, and Colin Hanton on drums, recorded a disc at a small studio in an electronics shop. They recorded “That’ll Be The Day” and “In Spite Of Danger” in one take each, and both songs ended up on The Beatles’ Anthology 1.
In 1967, The Who began their first full North American tour at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. They opened for Herman’s Hermits.
In 1969, The classic movie Easy Rider opened.
In 1977, Elvis Costello & The Attractions made their live debut in Cornwall, England.
