In 1965, The Supremes scored their fifth consecutive US #1 single — the first American group to accomplish this feat — when “Back In My Arms Again” went to the top of the charts.

In 1972, John Lennon and Yoko Ono released the politically oriented double-album Some Time In New York City.

In 1982, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, and Gary “US” Bonds all appeared at a rally for nuclear disarmament in Central Park in New York City to over 450,000 fans.

In 1989, Graceland held the grand opening for the Elvis Presley Autoland Museum, which featured over 30 cars that had been owned by Elvis, including his famous Pink Cadillac and the red MG that Elvis drove in the film Blue Hawaii.

In 2005, Pink Floyd announced they would reunite with former bassist Roger Waters for the Live 8 concert in London in July. It would be the first time the band had played together as a quartet since The Wall tour in 1981.
