Blind Pilot Session with Nic Harcourt ahead of In The Shadow of the Holy Mountain release
Recorded in The SoCal Sound Studios, performing 3 songs + Interview with Nic Harcourt
Blind Pilot is releasing a new album In the Shadow of the Holy Mountain and they join Morning Show host Nic Harcourt for an interview!
This new album marks the fourth full length album from the Portland Based band, and is going to be released 8 years after the previous album And Then Like Lions. (The band visited the radio station for that album and performed “Packed Powder” in 2016)
Acknowledging the long period of time between records and new material, lead singer Israel Nebeker explains during the interview with Nic Harcourt “The first track on the album is kind of like, a sweet thank you apology song to Ryan for waiting so long for me to write.” referring to “Jacaranda”. Nebeker expanded on the process of writing the album, “it was just this output of a month of writing, and I wasn't questioning much. I was just like in acceptance mode, whatever it was coming through, and it wasn't until we mastered it and I was listening back that it really emotionally hit me what the album was about… there are some common threads and themes, things i was going to through at the time, a lot to do with ancestral lines and the stories that we continue on…. there’s a thread of returning, trying to return to friendship, to connection.”
Blind Pilot performed 3 songs; “Just A Bird”, “Brave”, “Don't You Know”
Blind Pilot In the Shadow of the Holy Mountain will be available on August 16 on ATO Records
