Bob Weir and Wolf Brothers – October 18 at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel
It’s the Year of Weir – So far 2018 has seen a spring tour with bassist Phil Lesh and guitarist Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead and a successful summer tour of Dead & Company. Now, a North American fall tour for music legends Bob Weir and Wolf Brothers (Don Was & Jay Lane) was announced last week. The tour will consist of 19 shows starting in mid-October. Both Weir and Primus drummer Jay Lane were members of the group RatDog and have previously toured together. Completing the trio is Don Was, bassist and half of Was (Not Was), not to mention legendary producer and current president of Blue Note Records. In 2015 Was helped put together Dead & Company, currently touring through the end of August. According to Weir his newest project with the Wolf Brothers will “explore songs of the Grateful Dead and more in a trio setting,” so Deadheads can expect to hear some of their favorites through the end of the year.
