Death Cab For Cutie announced their new album Thank You For Today comes out August 17th with the first single "Gold Rush". Since their last release Kintsugi in 2015, frontman Ben Gibbard has tried to go into the studio everyday to work on songwriting even when it wasn't going well. For "Gold Rush", a sample of Yoko Ono's 1972 song "Mind Train" drives the song as Gibbard sings about how cities change over time and some of the issues around those changes.
