Last Saturday, Joe Walsh hosted the debut of his exclusive 88.5 FM show. “Joe
Walsh’s Old Fashioned Rock and Roll Radio Show.”
When we were announcing the
first show, I was speaking to a friend:
Me:
Joe Walsh is going to host a show on the station!
Friend:
Oh wow, Joe Walsh- the Eagles!
It occurred to me that the Eagles may not have been the way you were first introduced to Joe Walsh. Maybe you “met” him in 1969 with the James Gang. Maybe you got hooked in 1973 by “Rocky Mountain Way,” from Barnstorm’s album, The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get. Maybe you heard his iconic “Life’s Been Good” on the FM movie soundtrack in 1978, which sent you speeding up the 5 in your Maserati, at 185, to his album, But Seriously, Folks...
Maybe it wasn’t until we all checked into the “Hotel California” with the Eagles that
same year. Was it an Eagles concert? Was it during one of his solo tours? Was it
from a mix tape from your mother’s brothers’s sister’s cousin, twice removed?
Maybe it wasn’t until 2012, with his album,“Analog Man” or his great work with
VetsAid, or numerous other concert appearances from the last decade.
However you know Joe, catch up with him this Saturday, hosting a 2-hour show, from 6-8pm, right here at 885fm.org, on the airwaves at 88.5 FM, and your favorite streaming apps!
Need a Joe fix? Check this out—"Analog Man" with special guest Jeff Lynne, live at
the Troubadour .
