Hozier Shares "Movement" and Announces New Album For 2019

HozierMovement

Hozier is on a roll to wrap up 2018 after a successful US tour (including three sold out nights at The Wiltern) and a critically acclaimed EP Nina Cried Power. Now he's looking ahead to 2019 as he announced that a full album is on the way in the new year and shared the first song from it called "Movement".

In the music video for "Movement", Hozier brought in someone who has experience dancing to his music. Dancer Sergei Polunin, who was featured in a David LaChappelle video set to "Take Me To Church" with over 25 million views, stars in this latest official music video. Musically, Hozier builds slowly like many of his other songs with heavy reverb and his expressive vocal abilities, but he always seems to find a way to make each song unique. A choir of voices and an organ brings the song to a climax masterfully and Polunin's dance matches it perfectly. Polunin said of joining forces on the visual representation for the latest single:

"When I found out that Hozier wanted me to be in his new music video for the song ‘Movement,’ I was over the moon with happiness. When I first heard the song, I thought –he did it again, he created a masterpiece. His music inspired and moved me before, and he did it again with ‘Movement."

More album details, including the name and exact release date, will be shared in the coming months.
