Still going...
I’m not talkin’ ‘bout a battery, or a watch, it’s the band that has transcended generations, The Stones! I guess I should have said “rolling” instead of “going!”

In April, to much excitement, the Rolling Stones released their first new song in eight years, “Living in a Ghost Town!” Now, they have announced the re-release of their 1973 chart topping album, “Goats Head Soup.” Due out September 4th, the 2 disc set includes a remastered version of the original album, plus a 10 track disc of alternative mixes, rare recordings and 3 previously unreleased songs: “Scarlet” (with Jimmy Page), “All the Rage” and “Criss Cross.” There’s also a 4 disc “super deluxe” edition which includes “A Brussels Affair,” a live album from 1973 and includes a 120 page book of rare photos and essays, plus four re-produced 1973 tour posters. Both sets are available on vinyl and as CDs. Details at https://rollingstones.com/

So, all this excitement got me thinking, ”Are the Stones the oldest rock band that is still touring?” (If they could right now, that is.) They are not, that honor goes to Golden Earring, the Dutch band formed in 1961, most famous for “Radar Love” and “The Twilight Zone!”
