Travis Session LIVE on AIR with Nic Harcourt + Jet
Discussing the new album L.A. TIMES
Recorded in The SoCal Sound Studios, performing 3 songs + Interview LIVE ON THE AIR
Travis has a full length LP titled L.A. Times and Fran Healy and Andy Dunlop join Morning Show hosts Nic Harcourt + Jet for an interview.
In good company with many of the bands that have recently been filmed for a SoCal Sound Session lately, Travis has celebrated being a band for over 30 years now.
Originally hailing from Glasgow, lead singer and main songwriter Fran Healy relocated to Los Angeles, which proved to be the ideal background for inspiration for this new album.
In the interview, that was live on the Morning Show with Nic Harcourt and Jet, Healy explains the grit that comes with living in Los Angeles, and how it shapes the music from the new Travis Album; “ I'm in LA trying to write songs. It's my my studio is on the edge of Skid Row and Little Tokyo. It was around about the time when the, unhoused folk around there got these giant, massive ghetto blasters, you know, these giant things that are they pull along a suitcase and they're about 5000W and they play trap music, and I'm trying to, like, write these songs with this music going in the background. Everywhere I've been in L.A, I've been trying to write the last album. Yeah, ten songs. Yeah. There was a guy. minute I started putting my fingers on the keyboard, you could hear this [knocks on desk] And I'm like, what is that? And there's a guy like, like, starting to build a house for four years I, I've just gotten used to this thing that the L.A is a loud city the album actually surprisingly concise and, it's, it's got a, it shimmers, it's got a good vibe about it.
Travis performed 3 songs; “Alive”, “Bus”, “Gaslight”
